The Dublin Coffman and Worthington Kilbourne high school gymnastics teams flipped positions from last season, but both are returning to the state team meet.
The Shamrocks won the district title Feb. 22 with 143.85 points followed by the host Wolves (141.025). Upper Arlington (137.7) finished third to also advance to state, which is Friday, Feb. 28, at Hilliard Bradley.
Grove City (136.325) could not catch UA for the final berth, but did make the largest jump after finishing 13th last season.
Individually, Coffman’s Alex Markulis won the floor exercise (9.3) and vault (9.525) en route to being all-around champion (36.725). Her teammate, Nicole Fusco, won on balance beam (9.2) and Buckeye Valley’s Savannah Amato won on uneven bars (9.05).
The top eight finishers in each event and the all-around qualified for the individual state meet, which is Saturday, March 1, at Bradley.
