Lint has big day for Columbus Academy

Columbus Academy senior Jack Lint finished third in the long jump with an effort

22 feet, 8 ¼ inches on the first day of the Division III state meet June 6 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Lint, a Virginia signee, also qualified for the May 7 finals with the top times in the 110 hurdles (14.17 seconds) and 300 hurdles (36.92).

Columbus Academy placed fourth in the 3,200 relay (8:00.8).

Grandview’s Grant Varner was fifth in the shot put (53-9).

In Division II, Watterson’s Domijic Lombardi qualified first in the 300 hurdles (37.76). He will be looking to repeat as state champion in the May 7 finals. Watterson also had the top time in the 400 relay (42.44).

In Division I, Pickerington North’s Nick Gray qualified to finals with the top times in the 200 (21.20) and 400 (47.78). He also will compete in finals in the 100 and in the 1,600 relay.

Dublin Jerome finished fourth in the 3,200 relay (7:44.87) and Olentangy Liberty was fifth (7:47.62), as Cincinnati St. Xavier won in a state meet record 7:36.33.
