A Mutt Walk for people and their canine friends is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Thompson Park. All dogs must be leashed and have current vaccinations. Admission is free. Call the Weather Hotline at 583-5345 after 7:30 a.m.

American Red Cross Babysitting for boys and girls age 11-15 will be offered May 31. The class meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Municipal Services Center. Cost is $56 for residents.

A week-long soccer camp for children age 3-14 will be held June 9-13 at Thompson Park. The program is for all ability levels and consists of instruction in fundamentals and games. Ages 3-4 will meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. or 10 to 10:45 a.m.; ages 5-6 (6-year-old beginners only) from 9 to 10 a.m. or 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; and half-day camp for ages 6-14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $70 for the youngest group, $75 for ages 5-6 and $125 for the half-day camp. Campers receive a T-shirt and soccer ball.

Children age 2-4 can make a Father's Day gift at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the Senior Center. Cost is $13 for residents.

Cartooning for Kids age 7-12 will be held June 16-19 at the Thompson Park South shelter. Students will learn to draw a cartoon character and to animate it in a flip book. Cost is $46 for residents.

Children age 6-12 are can learn how to make pop-up books and cards with artist Ginny Baughman at Pop-Up Fun, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. June 16-19 at Thompson Park South shelter. Cost is $52 for residents.

Children in grades K-6 can learn cheerleading basics at Cheers and Chants Camp, June 16-19 at Barrington Elementary School. Registration fee is $90 for residents in grades 4-6, $72 for grades K-3.

T-Ball Sluggers for ages 5-7 will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. June 16-19 on the field next to Hastings Middle School. Participants should bring their own glove and a water bottle and will learn fundamentals. Cost is $60 for residents.

Sporties for Shorties Camp will be offered the weeks of June 16-19, June 23-26 and July 14-17 at Fancyburg Park. Children age 3 will meet from 9 to 10 a.m.; ages 4-5 will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The four-day mini-camp includes track and field, big hoop basketball, water balloon Olympics, football, T-ball and soccer. Cost for residents is $42 for age 3, $50 for ages 4-5.

Youth Shuffleboard Clinics will be held Tuesday afternoons, July 17-22, (n program July 8) at Fancyburg Park. A tournament will be held July 29 from 9 a.m. to noon. Deadline to register is July 22, with a fee of $6.

A Father and Son BBQ is planned for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Thompson Park North shelter. The event for boys age 3-6 and their dads, grandfathers, uncles or other special men includes T-ball, relay races and more. Cost is $10 per person for residents. Registration deadline is June 11.

A Family Camp-Out will be held June 20-21 at Thompson Park. Games, a movie and more are planned. Registration is $25 per family. Deadline is June 18.
