Upper Arlington Aquatics will host the Night of Champions III from 6-11 p.m. Sept. 12 at Scioto Country Club.

The event supports boys and girls swimmers, divers and water polo players for Upper Arlington High School. It will honor Cathy Pugh, Rick Von Hamm and Bob Albright. There will be live and silent auctions, with items such as tickets to the Ohio State-Michigan football game, golf outings and travel packages.

The Ohio Lady Hoopsters basketball program will hold six-week fall leagues for girls in grades K-4 and 5-12 starting Sept. 13.

The Dynamo Swim Team will be coached by Vladimir Dolgov, a bronze medalist in the 100-meter backstroke for the Soviet Union in the 1980 Olympics.

Dynamo is a year-round competitive swim team at the JCC of Greater Columbus. A preseason camp will be Monday through Sept. 14 and is open to all swimmers interested in receiving additional practice before the start of the fall and winter seasons. Swimmers also may try out for the team during this time.

The fall and winter season begins Sept. 15 and runs through March 8 and the spring season runs April 14 through June 8. The summer season is from June 9 through July 26. Capital will have a fall fastpitch softball league for girls entering grades 8-12 on Sundays from Sept. 7 to Oct. 19. Rio Grande will play host to to a fall baseball league for players in grades 9-12. Games will last no longer than 2 hours, 15 minutes. Pitchers may throw three innings in a game and no player will sit for consecutive innings. Teams will be coached by members of the Redmen baseball team. Teams will use wooden bats that will be provided.

The Ohio Chargers U-14 baseball team is looking for players for next year. The Chargers play a regional schedule and will participate in the tournaments throughout the Midwest. Eligible players cannot turn 15 before May 1, 2009.
