The 2009 class of Leadership UA will present Green Day UA on Saturday, April 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Tremont Center.

"Green Day UA is a community project," said class member Debbie Johnson. "What we hope to do is promote services that are eco-friendly."

Vendors that provide eco-friendly services and resources will present information during the event, including Sustainable UA, Green Energy Ohio, Tipping Point Renewable Energy, Dovetail Solar & Wind, the Alt Energy Store and the Ohio Wildlife Center working in conjunction with Jones Middle School students.

"There will be everything from an eco-friendly home audit to a store that just opened in Arlington called Down the Garden Path," Johnson said. "It kind of runs the gamut."

Through interactive exhibits, families can learn how to be more eco-friendly. Artwork by Upper Arlington elementary students will be on display. Members of Girl Scout Troop 2306 will offer free face painting.

Ohio Computer Recycling will be on hand to dispose of unwanted computers. Arlington Bank is sponsoring free disposal of documents in an environmentally-friendly way.

"Our motto is 'reduce your bear print,'" Johnson said. "We'll be looking at, how can we become a more green community."
