Bob McGee, who coached the Upper Arlington High School girls soccer team for 11 years, has resigned and will take over the girls program at Fisher Catholic in Lancaster.

One of McGee's daughter attends Fisher Catholic, and the school is only about a 10-minute drive from his house in Baltimore.

"I know this is a decision he has struggled with, but after years of talking to his team about the importance of family, he decided to follow his own advice," UA athletics director Chris Potts said.

UA finished 19-2-1 last season after losing to eventual champion Cincinnati St. Ursula 3-0 in a Division I state semifinal. During McGee's tenure, UA won eight OCC titles, five district championships and one regional title.

More details will be available in the Thursday publication of ThisWeek in Upper Arlington.
