On Saturday, April 11, the Jones Middle School Baseball team held a carwash at the Monro Brakes parking lot in the Tremont Center. We washed a total of 155 cars during a three-hour period.

Because of the encouraging patronage of our Upper Arlington community, we raised much-needed funds for our program.

The previous week we, the Jones Middle School baseball team members, went door to door in our neighborhoods soliciting donations to help fund the baseball program. For many of us, it was an awkward teenage experience, although a very rewarding one.

On behalf of all the team players, coaches, and parents we would like to take this moment to sincerely thank our Upper Arlington community for its overwhelmingly enthusiastic support of our team efforts to raise money for the Jones baseball program.

A very special thanks goes out to the following businesses and organizations:

„ Monro Brakes for allowing us to use their parking lot.

„ The Tremont Center storekeepers for allowing us to use their space.

„ The Upper Arlington Fire Department for their support, hooking up the water and coordinating the event with the city.

„ All the citizens of Upper Arlington who helped support the Jones Baseball Program through their donations.

„ Our friends and neighbors on Guilford and Beverly roads who year after year support the baseball team with smiles, encouragement, friendly conversation, attendance at our games and donations.

„ The Jones Baseball parents and coaches who championed the boys by washing cars, bringing supplies, hot chocolate, Gatorade and food.

„Jeanine Hummer for organizing the event.

Thank you again to everyone in the community who supported us and Go Bears!
