The last of this summer's series of free concerts sponsored by the Upper Arlington Cultural Arts Division is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, on the lawn in front of the UA Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road.

The last of this summer's series of free concerts sponsored by the Upper Arlington Cultural Arts Division is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, on the lawn in front of the UA Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road.

The final Music in the Parks concert features Swings the Thing Big Band, a 16-piece band that includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, rhythm section and vocals. Playing hits from such legends as Count Basie and Duke Ellington, Swings the Thing's repertory also covers a wide range of dance styles that include swing, blues, cha cha, rumba, mambo, samba, waltz, disco, foxtrot and polka.

Those attending are recommended to bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Free ice cream treats will be offered.

In the event of rain, the concert will be moved inside to the Council Chamber.

The summer concert series receives support from the Ohio Arts Council, 90.5 WCBE, Pagetech Ltd. and Huffman's Market.
