The instructional fee is $35 per student per class. Sessions dates are Oct. 11 through Dec. 6, Jan. 17 through March 7, and April 11 through May 23.

Register in person, online at, by phone or by mail. For additional information, call the Aquatics Division at 583-5300.

The city of Upper Arlington reminds residents that city leaf collection does not begin until the week of Oct.19.

Before that time, residents should place leaves in approved biodegradable bags or refuse cans as part of yard waste collection, or take advantage of free drop-off at SWACO's Bill Holbrook Regional Composting Facility on Roberts Road.

The city will provide leaf collection services to residents free of charge beginning the week of Monday, Oct. 19, and ending Friday, Dec. 4, weather permitting.

Residents are asked to follow these guidelines:

Do not put leaves out for collection until one week prior to the start of the program.

Place loose-raked leaves close to the edge of the street.

Leaf piles should not exceed four feet in width and be no further than two feet behind the curb.

Do not place any rocks, sticks or other objects in leaf piles.

Keep leaf piles away from sign posts, light poles, trees and mailboxes.

Do not allow leaf piles to block storm sewers, as this can increase the chance of flooding.

Putting leaves out early may cause other residents to contact the City's Code Compliance Division. If the situation is not rectified following initial notification from the city, the Code Compliance Division is required to issue a formal notice to the property owner, with possible fines resulting.
