On Wednesday, May 19, Humana opened a new guidance center in Upper Arlington. The Guidance Center is a place for people to receive personalized assistance with their health insurance, instead of calling a toll-free number.

The guidance center is open to the public. At the grand opening celebration, approximately 200 people collected information from community health organizations and participated in fitness class demonstrations.

The health and wellness seminars led by local experts and social activities, such as craft courses and Wii bowling, will continue.

"Humana's intention with the Guidance Center is to provide friendly support and information and help people gain more control over their health decisions," said Aubrey Woodward, guidance center specialist. "Our other guidance centers have evolved from customer service locations to community gathering places, and I'm looking forward to witnessing the same in Upper Arlington."

There are fewer than 20 guidance centers across the country. The center in Upper Arlington is the second one for the state of Ohio.

"We have a large concentration of Humana members throughout the state and in Columbus," said Woodward. "We selected Upper Arlington because of its convenient location for these members as well as other residents."

The Humana Guidance Center is located at 2025 W. Henderson Road, Upper Arlington. It is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
