The Upper Arlington Aquatics Division will host its eighth annual Doggie Dips at the Tremont Pool in Northam Park from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Aug. 26 and 27, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28 and 29.

The event costs $5 per dog per visit.

Doggie Dip guidelines include:

Dogs should be clean and should not be fed within two hours of attending.

Dogs must have a current dog license and proof of rabies vaccination.

Dogs should be kept on a leash when out of the water.

owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Residents are invited to attend the inaugural Miller Park Tree Trek, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28.

Sponsored by the Upper Arlington's Parks and Recreation Department, the guided trek will be led by Dr. Charles Hickey, a member of the city's tree commission. He will lead the tour of 25 different species of native and exotic trees to be found in the park.

The tour will begin from the Miller Park Library parking lot on Stanford Road.

The newly created Miller Park Tree Trek joins a series of self-guided tours already available for Northam, Thompson and Fancyburg parks. The guides can be downloaded from the Parks & Forestry section of the city's website, at www.uaoh.net or can be obtained at the three libraries or at the Fancyburg Park kiosk.

A public meeting to discuss options for completing and connecting the two pathway systems at Northwest Kiwanis and Burbank parks will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at the Burbank Park Shelter, 4780 Stonehaven Drive.

The discussion is hosted by the Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation Department.
