The Upper Arlington Public Library, in conjunction with the Columbus Museum of Art, will host an Art Around Town event Saturday, Oct. 2, at the main library, 2800 Tremont Road.

The Upper Arlington Public Library, in conjunction with the Columbus Museum of Art, will host an Art Around Town event Saturday, Oct. 2, at the main library, 2800 Tremont Road.

The Upper Arlington event, scheduled for noon to 4 p.m., will feature both adult and family activities such as hourly conversations about a selected Russian portrait from CMA, live music from a ProMusica string quartet, the chance to win prizes and an activity to create a Russian-inspired treasure box.

The event is free and open to the public.

The recreation division of the Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate 40 years of "making fun happen" when it hosts its Fall Fest family event from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at Fancyburg Park, Kioka and Swansea roads.

This year's fest is packed with activities for all ages.

Mark Rosenthal, Nickelodeon's 2010 Entertainer of the Year, will perform with his own blend of exotic animals and magic.

Individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up to compete in this years Huffman's Market Chili Cook-off. A celebrity panel of judges will name the winner of this year's cook-off.

Admission to Fall Fest is free, although there may be a small fee for some activities.
