The city of Upper Arlington reminds residents to dispose of fall leaves through the city's yard waste program or at the free yard waste drop-off facility on Roberts Road until the week of Oct. 11.

Beginning that week, they may begin raking leaves to the curb in preparation for the start of the city's leaf collection program, which begins on Monday, Oct. 18.

Putting leaves out early may cause other residents to contact the city's code compliance division. If the situation is not rectified following initial notification from the city, the division is required to issue a formal notice to the property owner, with possible fines resulting.

More information is available by calling the streets division at 583-5380, or visiting www.uaoh.net.

Code compliance questions or concerns may be addressed by calling 583-5070.

Effective the week of Monday, Oct. 4, yard waste in Upper Arlington will be picked up on the same day as refuse and recycling collection.

Residents are asked to have any yard waste bundles, containers or bags at curbside by 7 a.m. on the morning of their regular collection day. Yard waste put out through the city's program must still have one solid waste sticker affixed per bag or bundle.

Residents may also take advantage of a free yard waste drop-off facility at 4100 Roberts Road. Fall hours for the SWACO Bill Holbrook Regional Composting Facility are Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Acceptable yard waste includes brush, yard trimmings, sod and grass.

Call 583-5370 for more information or visit www.uaoh.net for full details of refuse, recycling and yard waste collection.
