• The “ESOL Book Club” for non-native speakers of English meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays through Dec. 15. The group is discussing a book about George Washington.

• Come to the library’s 40th annual “Holiday Happiness” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. This free event will feature music, crafts for children and adults, displays, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from noon to 2 p.m.

• The “Parent/Child Book Discussion Group” will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, to discuss “Justin Case: School, Drool and Other Daily Disasters” by Rachel Vail. For children in grades 3-5 and a caregiver.

• Students in grades 1-3 can play “Beyblades” at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. Participants should bring their own blades and stadiums. Registration is required.

• Storytime classes run through Dec. 15 with no registration required. “Babytime,” for ages infant to 24 months, meets at 10:15 a.m. Mondays and 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays. “Tales for Twos and Threes,” for ages 2 to 3 years, meets at 11:15 a.m. Mondays, 11:15 a.m. Tuesdays and 10:15 a.m. Thursdays. “Preschool,” for ages 3 to 6 years, meets at 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays and 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays. “Family Evening Storytime,” for all ages, meets at 7 p.m. Mondays.

• Enjoy light refreshments and holiday music with local band RMT at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6.

• Miller Park’s annual “Home for the Holidays” program returns from 4 to 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 1). Hear music from Mr. Brian, decorate cookies, make a craft and play a dreidel game. Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit from 5 to 6 p.m.
