Sermon series to combine art, spirituality
Semi-retired Methodist minister and artist Steve Marshall of Arizona will present a series of "art sermons" on June 13 and 16 at the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church (UALC), 2300 Lytham Road.
Marshall, the son of a United Methodist minister, entered the ministry after a 20-year career in the graphic arts field.
He is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary and was ordained the the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.
"An art sermon," he said in a press release, "combines the spoken word, art and music in presenting a unified inspirational spiritual message."
Marshall will give the sermon at the church's regular Sunday services, June 16, at 8:15 and 11 a.m.
A reception is planned for 10:30 a.m. June 16, in the church's Founders' Hall.
