CATCO is Kids and the Davis Performing Arts Program for Youth will present The Rude Mechanicals Aug. 30-Sept. 1 in the Shedd Theatre of Columbus Performing Arts Center, 549 Franklin Ave.
A cast of 16 central Ohio youth takes the stage for this whimsical adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream by Ed Graczyk, which takes many liberties with the Bard's text, and, in doing so, achieves a comedy style of its own. Joe Bishara, CATCO associate producing director, directs.
The cast of the production includes: Rose Clubok (Robin's minion) of Bexley; Georgia (Robin's minion), Scarlett (Robin's minion), Stella (Propwoman) and Zeke (Robin's minion) Fried of Clintonville; Gabe Garnes (Nick Bottom) of Gahanna; Kate Glaser (Quince) and Anna Morley (Robin Starveling) of Upper Arlington; Corinne Gorgas (Flute) of Pickerington; Toby Hattemer (Duke #2) of Columbus; Catherine Huffman (Robin Goodfellow) of Powell; Sarah Anne Kauffman (Snug) of Hilliard; Olivia Poling (Hippolyta #1) of Dublin; Carly (Hippolyta #2) and Tanner Sells (Duke #1) of Grove City; and Katie Stewart (Snout) of Galena.
