'Birthday Dash' to fight ovarian cancer

The Birthday Bash Stilleto Dash will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6, at Our Lady of Victory Parish Life Center, 1559 Roxbury Road, in Marble Cliff.

The event benefits the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month; Sept. 6 is national Wear Teal Day. Teal is the ovarian cancer awareness color.

The event is organized by Chrissie Landolfi and Christina Klein. Klein is a nine-year survivor of the disease, and Landolfi lost her mother to it three years ago. The pair also share a Sept. 7 birthday.

In addition to the dash at noon, the event includes a cash-only raffle followed by a program and light lunch. Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for five.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their Friday best with heels.
