Containers used for yard waste must be clearly marked and must only be used for yard waste. Any commingling of yard waste and refuse will result in crews tipping the entire container into the refuse packer truck. Additionally, do not put a lid on yard waste containers when placing them out for collection, so it's easily apparent that the container contains yard waste.

Containers should not exceed 50 pounds or 35 gallons. Bundles cannot exceed five feet in length or 50 pounds and should be tied with biodegradable string.

Residents also may take advantage of a free yard waste drop-off facility located at 4100 Roberts Road. Fall hours for the SWACO Bill Holbrook Regional Composting Facility are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m.to 4 p.m. Sundays. Acceptable yard waste includes brush, yard trimmings, sod and grass.
