Thieves steal $16,800 worth of jewelry from UA home

About $16,800 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from an Upper Arlington woman's home in the 1400 block of London Drive between March 1 and Nov. 11.

The missing items include a white gold/opal ring with diamonds, a man's gold ring, a woman's herringbone gold necklace, gold earring sets of various makes and designs and a pearl and gold pendant.

Also reported stolen was a diamond and gold ring, a gold tennis bracelet with diamonds and a gold Bengal bracelet.

Police identified a female suspect in the case, but no charges had been filed.

In other recent Upper Arlington Division of Police reports:

* A watch valued at $3,000 was reported stolen from a home in the 4500 block of Carriage Hill Lane between Sept. 1 and Nov. 10.

* A leather bag valued at $50 and "other documents" valued at $1 were reported stolen from a female juvenile's vehicle while it was parked in the 2100 block of Farliegh Road between 12:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 7:15 a.m. Nov. 18. Entry was gained by breaking a window, which caused $450 in damage.

* A leather bag and a money deposit bag, each valued at $1, were reported stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the 2800 block of Chateau Circle between 2 p.m. Nov. 17 and 5:25 a.m. Nov. 18.

* A laptop computer valued at $800, $140 in cash, a wallet valued at $40 and its contents were reported stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the 2800 block of Lymington Road between 7 p.m. Nov. 17 and 4 a.m. Nov. 18. Entry was gained by breaking out two windows, causing $350 in damage. The man also reported the unauthorized use of his credit card, resulting in a loss of $55.67.

* A window to a vehicle was broken out, causing $200 in damage, while it was parked in the 1200 block of Kenbrook Hills Drive between 8:30 and 11 p.m. Nov. 17.

* A purse and personal papers were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Pemberton Road between 9:15 p.m. Nov. 15 and 8 a.m. Nov. 16. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

* Two bicycles, valued at $200 each, a purse valued at $150, $75 in cash, a driver's license and a debit card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of London Drive between 7 p.m. Nov. 15 and 9 a.m. Nov. 16. Entry was gained by breaking out a window, which caused $200 in damage.

* A watch valued at $100, ear buds valued at $85 and a gift card were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 3600 block of Chowning Court between 11:15 p.m. Nov. 11 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

* Six gift cards of undisclosed value were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Mountview Road between 8 p.m. Nov. 14 and 7:15 a.m. Nov. 15.

* A global-positioning device valued at $200 and two credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Bristol Road between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and 6 p.m. Nov. 12.

* A tuner/monitor valued at $1,000, two GPS device valued at $400 each and $10 in cash were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2300 block of Bristol Road between 7 pm. Nov. 11 and 5:30 a.m. Nov. 12.

* Two black streaks were painted along the passenger side of a vehicle parked in the 2100 block of Bristol Road between 9 and 10:30 p.m. Nov. 16.

* An MP3 player valued at $100 and $5 cash were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Nottingham Road between 10 p.m. Nov. 11 and 9:07 a.m. Nov. 13.

* A check written in the amount of $6,547.40, a laptop computer valued at $702, books valued at $100, a backpack valued at $75, a day planner valued at $36, a wireless computer mouse valued at $30 and a computer cover valued at $30 were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Nottingham Road between 6:20 p.m. Nov. 11 and 7:20 a.m. Nov. 12.

* A wallet, credit cards and undisclosed vehicle parts, no value provided, were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2300 block of Nottingham Road between 11 p.m. Nov. 11 and 1 a.m. Nov. 12.

* An Upper Arlington woman reported she drove her car away from its parking spot in the 3600 block of Pevensey Drive around 11:30 p.m. Nov. 16 when the rear window began to crumble and then shattered.

Upon inspection, it appeared someone threw a flower pot into the window while it was parked between 6 and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 16, causing $300 in damage. Police reported other signs of criminal mischief in the area, including toilet paper and random items placed in driveways.

* A tablet computer valued at $299 was reported stolen from a parcel delivered to a man's home in the 3100 block of Northwest Boulevard between 2:30 and 2:40 p.m. Nov. 16.

* A GPS device valued at $150, a cellphone charger valued at $20, a tablet charger valued at $20 and $15 in cash were reported stolen from two vehicles parked at a home in the 2700 block of Kent Road between 8 p.m. Nov. 10 and 7 a.m. Nov. 11.
