Kavitha Kotha, M.D., of Upper Arlington recently was appointed a physician in pulmonary medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Kotha comes to Nationwide Children's from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. In addition to her appointment at Nationwide Children's, she will serve as a professor in pediatrics at the Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Kotha completed her fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Cincinnati Children's in August 2013. She completed her residency at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron and served as chief resident to the pediatric residency program while at Akron Children's.

She earned her medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2006 and her bachelor of science in natural sciences from the University of Akron in 2002.

Kotha is married to Craig Plowgian, M.D. They have two sons, Tejas and Rohan.
