Making marks

The 2014 Central Ohio Regional Scholastic Arts Awards exhibition is open through Feb. 1 at Columbus College of Art & Design's Canzani Gallery.

Among students who earned Best of Show honors as American Visions Medal nominees for national recognition are Sean Garrett and Shea Stiebler of Upper Arlington High School.

Best of Show honorees were chosen from 42 regional Gold Key honorees who may be eligible for scholarships at participating art and design colleges and universities throughout the country.

Stiebler received 12 Gold Key awards while Garrett received four Gold Key and four Silver Key awards.

Other receiving awards include Perry Finley, two Silver Key and two Gold Key awards; Justine Frerichs, two Silver Key awards; Caroline Maddex, honorable mention; Travis Martin, one Silver Key and one honorable mention; Arabella Mayrer, two Silver Key awards; Ian Shafer, two Silver Key and one honorable mention; and David Williams, eight honorable mention awards.

The gallery is at Cleveland Avenue and East Gay Street in Columbus. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It's closed on Mondays.
