Tremont Road plans to be topic of meeting

Sunday March 2, 2014 4:02 PM

The city of Upper Arlington's Engineering Division will hold a public meeting to review and discuss concepts for enhancing Tremont Road at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road.

In preparation for the scheduled reconstruction of Tremont Road from Five Points south to Lane Avenue beginning in 2015, the city has been working with a consultant, landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm MKSK, to develop concepts. The consultant was asked to develop options that would facilitate pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, improve the aesthetics of the roadway while also slowing down the speed of traffic. It also was asked to focus on connecting the Kingsdale commercial area with the Northam Park, Library, Tremont Elementary and Tremont Center area.

Representatives from MKSK will attend the meeting, along with Engineering Division Staff, to present design alternatives. Following the presentation, there will be an "open house" format discussion where residents and public officials can discuss the details and share thoughts or concerns.
