The Upper Arlington Civic Association (UACA) is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Golden Apple Awards.

Each spring, the UACA recognizes outstanding educators who help make Upper Arlington a terrific place for learning.

Nominations will be accepted through March 31, and can be submitted via the UACA website at uaca.org or via email to goldenapple@uaca.org.

The UACA encourages community involvement in the Golden Apple Award nomination process. Students and parents tend to provide the bulk of the nominations, but co-workers and other community members participate as well. In addition to teachers, nominations are accepted for administrators and staff.

The UACA awards one Golden Apple Award per school. A deserving nominee from one of the many area pre-schools also is recognized.

Eligible schools are Barrington, Greensview, Tremont, Wickliffe and Windermere elementary schools; Hastings and Jones middle schools; Upper Arlington High School; St. Agatha; St. Andrew; Wellington; and pre-schools in Upper Arlington.

Each winner receives a plaque from the UACA and public recognition. In addition, all winners are invited to ride on the Golden Apple float during Upper Arlington's Fourth of July parade.

Visit the UACA website at uaca.org for more information.
