Upper Arlington: Purse stolen from shopping cart at Giant Eagle

A 40-year-old Columbus woman reported her purse was stolen last week while she was shopping at an Upper Arlington grocery store.

The woman told Upper Arlington police she was shopping at Giant Eagle Market District, 3061 Kingsdale Center, around 5:40 p.m. March 27 when she left her cart unattended momentarily.

When she returned to her cart, she said, her $400 purse was gone. It contained her cellphone, valued at $500, her wallet, valued at $150, $8 in cash, eight credit cards and her Ohio's driver's license.

In other Upper Arlington Police Division reports:

• A television valued at $1,100, a cellphone and audio equipment were reported stolen from a home in the 2600 block of Zollinger Road between 1:30 and 5:30 a.m. March 29.

• An iPod valued at $299, a USB cable valued at $60 and $50 in cash were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Trentwood Road between 4:30 p.m. March 28 and 11:30 a.m. March 30.

• Profanities were sprayed on a concession building at Hastings Middle School, 1850 Hastings Lane, causing $100 in damage, and on the school's tennis courts, causing $500 in damage. The incidents occurred between 9 p.m. March 28 and 7:30 a.m. March 29.

• A briefcase and documents were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3000 block of North Star Road between 7:30 p.m. March 28 and 8:15 a.m. March 29. Police reports said entry was gained by breaking out a window.
