Seely receives gold award

Kristen Seely of Upper Arlington recently received the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

To earn the award, Seely completed a project entitled Meeting Needs of Immigrants in the Local Community. Her project addressed the issue of local immigrants needing easy access to information about support services.

She created a "Columbus Community Resource Guide" that provides information on a variety of organizations and social services in central Ohio. Copies were delivered to University Hospital East and Serving Our Neighbors Ministries.

Some universities and colleges offer scholarships unique to Gold Award recipients, and girls who enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces may receive advanced rank in recognition of their achievements.
