UA cruises to regional title, returns to state

The Upper Arlington High School girls lacrosse team completed a three-game tear through the Division I South/Central Region tournament, routing visiting Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame 20-3 in a regional final May 22.

Sophomore defender Molly Plasket had five goals, senior attacker Samantha Farwick scored four and senior attacker Sydney Farwick added three for the Golden Bears, who improved to 14-2.

UA will play Massillon Jackson or Rocky River Magnificat in a state semifinal May 31 at New Albany. The winner will play Cincinnati Sycamore, Mason, Medina or Olentangy Liberty in the state final June 1.

The Bears, who have been state runners-up each of the past four years, outscored their three regional tournament opponents 63-10. After taking a first-round bye, UA defeated Gahanna 23-3 on May 15 in a second-round game and Cincinnati St. Ursula 20-4 in a semifinal May 20.
