Three players sign letters of intent

Three Upper Arlington High School seniors signed letters of intent Feb. 5 to play football in college.

Jackson Finfrock, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound wide receiver and defensive back, signed with Stetson, a Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) program in DeLand, Fla. Last fall, he caught seven passes for 141 yards and a touchdown and made 21.5 tackles, including 13 solo, with two sacks and three tackles for loss. He was named first-team all-OCC-Central Division and honorable mention all-district in Division I.

Lewis Hughes, a 6-0, 185-pound wide receiver, running back and defensive back, will play for Siena Heights, an NAIA program in Adrian, Mich. Last fall, he rushed for 368 yards and three touchdowns on 53 carries and caught five passes for 29 yards and made 42 tackles, including 14 solo, with a sack and three tackles for loss. He made second-team all-district.

Noah Spielman, a 6-0, 278-pound two-way lineman, signed with Toledo as a defensive lineman. A three-year starter on defense who also played center, Spielman recorded 44 tackles, including 14 solo, and had eight for loss and three sacks last fall. He made first-team all-league, first-team all-district and special mention all-state.

Last season, UA finished 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the OCC-Central.
