Richard Weiner said police responded to a call about a man with a gun. When they got here, Goble was standing in the breezeway holding a gun. According to the report, he was repeatedly ordered to drop it. When he failed to, and pointed it at officers, he was shot multiple times, the report said. Columbus Division of Fire medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Weiner said the shooting will be investigated by CPD detectives and the police firearms use board, whose report goes to superior officers. Police shootings are also sent to the county prosecutor.

11:15 p.m. May 18, in the 3600 block of Post Oak Court West: A man said he parked his car and was walking toward an apartment when a man spoke to him and stood in his path. Another man came up behind him and put a gun in his back, and both reached in his pockets and stole $180, keys and identification.

5:55 p.m. May 14, in the 600 block of Wedgewood Drive: A man reported he was walking home when some men approached him and demanded $20, threatening to kill him. When he said he had no cash, they walked away.

9:22 p.m. May 18, in the 1700 block of Stilton Avenue: A couple said they were robbed of $350 and a $200 digital camera in their home.

10:45 a.m. May 12, Wedgewood Middle School, 3800 Briggs Road: Two students were charged with illegal conveyance or possession of deadly weapons or dangerous ordnance on school premises after they were caught bringing a knife into the school.

7:48 p.m. May 17, Ashbury Village Drive at Hall Road: Police arrested Ricardo Castelan-Benitez, 24, of 5225 Dempster Drive, and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon after they heard gunfire while investigating an auto accident.

Burglary reports were made last week from the 300 block of Chippewa Street, the 1100 block of Norton Road, the 1500 block of Demorest Road, the 800 block of Chestershire Road, the 800 block of Wedgewood Drive, the 5600 block of Baytree Drive, the 800 block of Tiger Drive, the 2600 block of Bernadette Drive, the 600 block of South Roys Avenue, the 3600 block of Creekwood Avenue, the 2900 block of Sullivant Avenue, the 900 block of South Harris Avenue, the 5300 block of Springdale Boulevard, the 600 block of Brent Boulevard, the 400 block of Candlestick Court, the 5400 block of New Dawn Court, the 5600 block of Sofia Court, the 3500 block of Farmhurst Lane, the 1100 block of New Dawn Lane and the 1100 block of Abbots Green Circle.

Auto theft reports were made from the 700 block of Shakerton Lane, the 3200 block of Colony Vista Lane, the 1700 block of Arrowhead Drive, the 1200 block of Demorest Road and the 3800 block of Eakin Road.

2:14 p.m. May 6, Briggs High School, 2555 Briggs Road: Police on May 13 reported someone saw a boy attempt to put his hand down the pants of a 15-year-old girl. Also at Briggs, a student reported the theft of $10 from her purse and assistant principals reported an unruly student pushed them into the wall as they were escorting the student.

May 13, I-70 at Fisher Road: Police charge Amy Jo Glover, 37, of 1506 Tracy Circle, with providing false information to an issuing officer, driving without a license and using a license plate on another auto.

May 13, in the 800 block of Wedgewood Drive: Police charged Tyrell M. Fuller, 19, of 751 Kingsford Road, with possession or consumption of alcohol, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia and charged Carl Myers, 26, of 4160 Atlanta Drive, with a felony count of drug abuse.

May 15, in the 1300 block of Harrisburg Pike: Police charged Michael R. Bratton, 27, of 468 S. Roys Ave., with obstructing official business.

May 14, 624 Foxbury Court: Police charged Riley X. Bretz, 19, with domestic violence and assault.

May 14, Police charged several people with trafficking in drugs. The crimes for which they are charged go back to the middle of 2007. Charged were: Rickey L. Harris Jr., 28, of 2543 Eakin Road; William J. Crabtree III, 32, Noble Correctional Facility; Michael Cummings, 33, of 538 Wrexham Ave.; and Crystal Lynn Bowe, 28, of 89 N. Wayne Ave.

Between 3:45 and 5 a.m. May 16, in the 5300 block of Fisher Road: Police reported a company is replacing fuel tank caps with locking caps after a thief siphoned off $652 worth of diesel fuel from two trucks parked in the lot.

1 p.m. May 16, in the 100 block of Darien Avenue: Two women reported they were robbed at gunpoint in their home by two people who forced their way inside when one woman answered the door. They stole $1,100, the women's purses and cell phones.

Between 4:09 and 4:29 p.m. May 15, in the 200 block of South Galloway Road: Deputies charged Thomas G. Yancy Jr., 18, of 3644 Cushing Drive, and Clifton Curtiss, 39, of 5817 Hunting Hollow Court, with burglary. The stolen items were returned to the owner, deputies said.

Between 4:30 and 6 a.m. May 18, in the 200 block of Darbyhurst Road: A woman reported someone caused $200 damage breaking into her home and stole a collection of quarters worth $20.

8:50 a.m. May 17, in the 6700 block of Alkire Road: Deputies reported someone set fire to a $30,000 pole barn and also destroyed a 2006 Chevrolet truck that had been reported stolen from Springdale, Ohio.

Between 10:08 and 10:10 p.m. May 15, in the 4500 block of West Broad Street: Employees at a gas station reported someone broke into a cage holding tanks of propane gas and stole 32 tanks worth a total of $2,000. Similar reports were made from several other West Side stations this day.

Theft from or vandalism to autos was reported from the 4700 block of Hilton Avenue and the 4800 block of Medfield Way.

3:33 p.m. May 18, Speedway, 3605 W. Broad St.: A clerk reported a man with a gun took money from the cash register.

1:25 a.m. May 17, Candy Store, 333 Georgesville Road: An employee reported a man with a handgun took money from the register.

Between May 3 and May 17, in the first block of Volney Avenue: A woman reported someone pried open the door on a vacant mobile home and stole a refrigerator, stove, television, lawn mower, tools and a freezer.

Between 12:45 and 2:15 a.m. May 18, in the 800 block of Harrisburg Pike: A man reported his Pontiac Grand Prix was stolen.

Between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. May 14, in the 700 block of Hague Avenue: A man reported someone broke into his home and stole a computer tower and monitor.

Noon May 14, in the 700 block of Little Avenue: A man reported the theft of a wheelbarrow and wood burner between May 4 and 8.

10 a.m. May 14, in the 2900 block of Clime Road: Police answered a call regarding a 1992 Plymouth Voyager blocking a driveway. It had been reported stolen in Columbus, they noted.

Between 2:20 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. May 19, in the 700 block of Harrisburg Pike: A worker reported someone disabled an alarm system and stole the cash register, safe and cash.

11:05 a.m. May 15, in the 1100 block of Eureka Boulevard: A man reported that between May 10 and 13, several windows were broken at a vacant house and copper pipes were stolen from inside.

Between midnight and 2 p.m. May 18, in the 1600 block of Jackson Road: A woman reported her 1986 Chevrolet C1500 truck was stolen.

8:30 a.m. May 19, in the 1700 block of Marsdale Avenue: A woman reported someone used her credit card numbers to make a $40.01 purchase on April 27, then tried to send $392 via Western Union, but was declined.

Between 9:45 p.m. May 19 and 9 a.m. May 20, in the 1200 block of Brown Road: A worker reported someone tried unsuccessfully to break into a business.

7:45 p.m. May 20, in the 500 block of Prospect Street: A man reported his former roommate took his $65 CD player.

4:55 p.m. May 16, in the 1600 block of Brown Road: A man reported someone he knows leaves him threatening messages 30 to 40 times a day.

Theft from or vandalism to autos was reported from the 4200 block of West Broad Street, the 3100 block of Clime Road and the 3200 block of Darracq Circle.
