Members of the local media got a sneak peek inside the new Hollywood Casino Columbus Monday, Aug. 20, with a hard-hat tour of the facility set to open Oct. 8.

The $400 million casino at 200 Georgesville Road will feature a 180,000-square-feet-floor that will house 3,000 slot machines, 70 table games and 30 poker tables.

Also included in the 475,000-square-foot building will be four restaurants and lounges and a meeting room that can accommodate 700 people.

The casino is located on 123 acres southeast of Georgesville Road and Broad Street, the former site of General Motors/Delphi Automotive Plant.

3,500 workers have been employed in its construction, and when it opens Oct. 8 the casino will employ 2,000. It is expected to draw more than 3 million visitors annually.
