Central Ohio Diabetes Association Family Fun Walk & Run, 9 a.m. April 27 at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus. In addition to participants, a number of volunteers are needed before, during and after the event. Volunteers will assist with event set-up and tear-down, staffing registration tables and other duties. Contact the Central Ohio Diabetes Association at 614-884-4400 or sign up online at www.volunteermatch.org. This event will be held rain or shine. Proceeds will help support education programs, nutritional counseling, community detection, youth and camp programs and other services.

Connect Ohio and YMCA Central Ohio, Every Citizen Online free basic computer and Internet training program, at the Hilltop YMCA/Cherry Creek multipurpose facility, 600 Fox Ridge St. The ECO program is open to any Ohio adult. New Directions Career Center, free resume review sessions, 10 a.m. to noon May 2 at the Westland Area Library, 4740 W. Broad St. NDCC volunteers will help job seekers revise their resumes in 15-minute allotments. Advance registration is required. Computer Basics, a 20-hour, one-week program presented by New Directions Career Center, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20-24 at 199 E. Rich St. The first six hours are underwritten by Connect Ohio and the remaining 14 hours of classroom instruction are supported by a PNC Bank Foundation grant. Participants learn key board basics including how to use a mouse to navigate the desktop and learn how to use the computer to find and apply for available jobs. Early Childhood Resource Network, free developmental Child Check screenings for children ages 1 month through 5 years, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 8 at Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road. Free screenings in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, speech and language and personal-social skills are offered. A hearing screening is provided, along with vision screenings for children older than 3 years. Resource information is provided for those who may need assistance. Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, Huntington Hearing Health Program in partnership with Huntington Bank, offering free hearing screenings from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month, Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, 510 E.
