Columbus Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis Walk, 4:30 p.m. June 22, at the Franklin Park Community Gardens. Take Steps is the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's national walk program to raise money for critical research and awareness about digestive diseases. Connect Ohio and YMCA Central Ohio, Every Citizen Online free basic computer and Internet training program, at the Hilltop YMCA/Cherry Creek multipurpose facility, 600 Fox Ridge St. The ECO program is open to any Ohio adult and curriculum includes six hours of training. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes, workshops

Computer Basics, a 20-hour, one week program presented by New Directions Career Center, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20-24, at the New Directions Career Center, 199 E. Rich St. The first six hours are underwritten by Connect Ohio and the remaining 14 hours of classroom instruction are supported by a PNC Bank Foundation grant. Participants learn key board basics along with how to use a mouse to navigate the desktop, and learn how to use the computer to find out about available jobs and apply for them. There is a suggested $10 fee to cover processing of registration; however, the center assists individuals regardless of their ability to pay. For more information, call 614-849-0028 and dial 100.

Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, Huntington Hearing Health Program in partnership with Huntington Bank, offering free hearing screenings from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month, Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, 510 E. North Broadway. Screenings will be offered to those ages 5 and older throughout 2013. To schedule appointments, call 614-261-5452.

Southwest Public Libraries Board of Trustees, 7:30 p.m. May 14, at the Westland Area Library, 4740 W. Broad St. The board may meet in caucus between 7 and 7:30 p.m. No official action will be taken at this time. The board will convene at 7:30 p.m.
