Columbus Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis Walk, 4:30 p.m. June 22, at the Franklin Park Community Gardens. Take Steps is the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's national walk program to raise money for critical research and awareness about digestive diseases. Connect Ohio and YMCA Central Ohio, Every Citizen Online free basic computer and Internet training program, at the Hilltop YMCA/Cherry Creek multipurpose facility, 600 Fox Ridge St. The ECO program is open to any Ohio adult and curriculum includes six hours of training. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes and workshops

Financial Planning Association of Central Ohio and New Directions Career Center, free workshop "Help! I Need Somebody: An Overview of Legal and Financial Resources," 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. May 29 at the career center, 199 E. Rich St. Suggested registration fee of $10 is payable at the door. Computer Basics, a 20-hour, one week program presented by New Directions Career Center, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24-28 at the New Directions Career Center, 199 E. Rich St. The first six hours are underwritten by Connect Ohio; the remaining 14 hours of classroom instruction are supported by a PNC Bank Foundation grant. Participants learn key board basics, how to use a mouse to navigate the desktop, and how to find and apply for available jobs. Suggested $10 fee covers processing of registration; however, the center assists individuals regardless of their ability to pay. For information call 614-849-0028 and dial 100.

Mount Carmel Health System, Walk with a Doc program, 9 a.m. June 1 and 16, July 6 and 20, Aug. 3 and 17 at the Mount Carmel Grove City Medical Center, 5525 Hoover Road. The walks are free for those interested in improving their health. A doctor will be on hand to answer any questions and talk with people. Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, Huntington Hearing Health Program in partnership with Huntington Bank, offers free hearing screenings from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month, Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, 510 E. Grove City "Dine and Share" Grief & Loss Support Group, 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month in the Fireside Room at Grove City United Methodist Church, 2650 Columbus St. A potluck dinner is followed by a sharing group at 7:15 p.m. Participants can take part in the dinner or just the group program.
