Race to be part of Westland July 4 holiday events

The Westland Area Business Association and Murray Hill Family Dental has created a 5K race to help the businesses and community in and around the South-Western City School District celebrate Independence Day.

The event will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29.

Proceeds from the 5K will support the South-Western City Schools Special Education Department and heart of Ohio Chapter of myTeam Triumph.

Cost to participate in the 5K is $25 and $20 in the one-mile walk.

The route begins at the corner of West Broad Street and Old Village Road and will follow part of the Independence Day holiday parade route.

The organization myTeam triumph provides inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families, to participate in Central Ohio endurance racing events, while building authentic relationships through teamwork.
