Christ Child Society of Columbus, annual Red Wagon Fare luncheon, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Villa Milano Banquet and Conference Center, 1630 Schrock Road. The event features a luncheon, central Ohio vendors, Christ Child Society sweets, baked goods and crafts and a style show provided by Chico's from the Shops at Worthington Place and Belles and Beaux Children's Boutique. Proceeds support the projects of the Christ Child Society. This year, Project Starfish, a tuition assistance program for the Christ Child-Child Care Center at St. Stephens Community House will be the beneficiary. Computer Basics, a 20-hour, one-week program by New Directions Career Center, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 21-25 at the New Directions Career Center, 199 E. Rich St. The first six hours are underwritten by Connect Ohio; the remaining 14 hours are supported by a PNC Bank Foundation grant. Participants learn how to use a mouse to navigate the desktop, and how to find and apply for available jobs.
