GCHS orchestras earn high ratings

The Grove City High School Symphony Orchestra earned a unanimous top rating of "Superior" Friday, Feb. 21 at the Ohio Music Education Association State Adjudicated Event.

The Symphony Orchestra, a full orchestra including strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion, performed in Class A, the highest classification with the most difficult music. The orchestra has earned a superior rating the past six years in Class A.

The school's Concert Orchestra earned a rating of "excellent" from the four-judge panel. The orchestra is a strings-only ensemble in its second year at GCHS.

The orchestras are under the direction of Tom Traini.

Their next public performance will be at Grove City High School's annual spring concert May 20.
