Library employees recognized for their service

Several employees of the Grove City Library were recognized for their years of service last week by the Southwest Public Libraries Board of Trustees.

Among those recognized at the board's meeting April 8 were Pat Crossen, Lore Lehr, Elizabeth "Tina" Osborne, Karen Osterman, Amy Shaw, Michelle "Chelle" Troth, and Carol Wolford.

Crossen, the technical systems manager, was hired in 1988 as a computer operator/ cataloging clerk and promoted the following year.

Shaw joined the library in 1988 as the public information officer and is currently communications manager.

Lehr first worked from 1985 to 1989 in tech systems, checking in books for cataloging order information. She returned in 1993 as a temporary employee before being hired at the Westland Library as an information assistant. She moved to the Grove City Library in 1997 and became youth services librarian in 2001.

Wolford was hired in 1993 as a reader's assistant in the service department and was promoted to a reference department information assistant in 2002.

Osborne has been working at the library for the past three years, beginning in December 2010, as the evening custodian.

Troth has been a circulation assistant in the circulation department since February 2010.

Osterman started as a part-time custodian worker in October 2008 before being promoted in 2009 to custodian and again in 2011 to full-time maintenance/custodian.
