Coach Jeff Riegler has partnered with the Buckeye Swim Club to bring a competitive program to area youth swimmers. The program will offer quality competitive swim instruction and the opportunity to compete in swim meets throughout Ohio. Interested swimmers should be able to swim the length of the pool.

The 10th LynnFund Golf Classic will be Sept. 17 at Foxfire. The event will be a shotgun start with men's, women's and mixed scramble teams. There will be a silent auction. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the "Use Your Brain" campaign to give away bike helmets in the shape of a brain to children and adults in the state of Ohio. The Ohio Chargers U-14 baseball team is looking for players for next year. The Chargers play a regional schedule and will participate in the tournaments throughout the Midwest. Eligible players cannot turn 15 before May 1, 2009.

Rio Grande will play host to to a fall baseball league for players in grades 9-12. Games will last no longer than 2 hours, 15 minutes. Pitchers may throw three innings in a game and no player will sit for consecutive innings. Teams will be coached by members of the Redmen baseball team. Teams will use wooden bats that will be provided.
