A Westerville man was killed in a motorcycle accident last weekend.

According to Deputy Steve Fickenworth of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Robert W. Wilson, 41, of Westerville, was riding his black Honda 1000 on Central College Road east of Lee Road between the early morning and 9 a.m. Sunday, June 21, when he may have taken a turn too fast.

"The motorcycle was eastbound, failed to make a curve in the road, slid off the right side of the road and came to rest in a field," Fickenworth said.

He said the sheriff's office was still investigating, but noted that alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

The rider was wearing a helmet and was not a new motorcycle rider according to his family, Fickenworth said.

"Weather was not a factor," he said. "This was a nighttime crash on a dry road."
