A Westerville teen has been charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a July 2 accident in which a pedestrian was killed.

William L. Hall Jr., 16, was charged this week in the death of Westerville resident Todd J. Baker, 46, according to a press release from the Westerville Division of Police.

According to police, Baker was walking north on Otterbein Avenue around 3:25 p.m. July 2, near Farthing Drive, when a vehicle driven by Hall left the road, went onto the sidewalk and struck Baker from behind.

Baker was taken by helicopter to Ohio State Medical Center, where he died that night from blunt force injuries to his head, chest and legs from contact with Hall's bumper and windshield, police said.

Hall is charged with one count of vehicular homicide, police said.
