An 18-year-old Westerville man was arrested Sept. 21 after he and a friend allegedly stole snack food and candy bars from CVS, 1202 County Line Road. He was later released to his mother's custody, Westerville police said.

A 21-year-old Westerville man was arrested and charged with drunken driving after crashing his vehicle into a Westerville police cruiser parked on West Main Street around 3:30 a.m. Sept. 22. According to the officers, who were not in the cruiser at the time, the man exited his car after the crash, stumbling, smelling of alcohol and slurring his speech. He failed a field sobriety test before being arrested, police reports said.

Police reports said five people stole a variety of video-game equipment from Radio Shack, 95 Huber Village Blvd., around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22. According to police, one woman distracted the manager while the others stole video-game controllers and memory cards before exiting the store.

The window of a van parked at the Westerville Sports Complex, 325 N. Cleveland Ave., was smashed in and three Westerville Library DVDs were stolen. Police estimated the value of the DVDs at $45 and the damage to the van at $300.

A car, which was unlocked and had the keys in the ignition, was stolen from a driveway on Dempsey Road between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 24.

A woman was charged with theft after allegedly stealing $76 worth of merchandise from Kohl's, 133 Huber Village Blvd., around 6 p.m. Sept. 24.

Two 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man were charged with criminal damaging around 1 a.m. Sept. 26 after allegedly spray painting two cars parked on Illinois Avenue and a street crossing sign at Otterbein Avenue and Walnut Street.
