Golf and tennis lessons for teens and adults begin in May. Golf classes for ages 18 and older will be held at the Westerville Golf Center May 4 through June 9, at varying days and times. Fees will cover the use of range balls. Tennis lessons for ages 16 and older will be held May 10 through June 21 at the community center. Cost is $50 for residents; $60 for non-residents.

Teen Night at the Community Center, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 14, featuring DJ Matt Ryan, swimming, pizza, gaming systems and more. Attendees will have access to the facility except for the fitness room and track. Cost is $5.

Healthy Habits, 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 15. Adults and children (ages 10-16, with parent) are welcome to learn simple solutions for staying healthy, including eating right and skin care. Cost is $40 per pair for residents; $50 for non-residents.

"Frogs," a program about these creatures, presented by the department and COSI, for children ages 18-36 months. Class meets at 9 or 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 18. Cost is $10 for residents; $15 for non-residents

Living Debt-Free, 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18. Cost is $40 for residents; $50 for non-residents. Participants should bring a calculator.

Trip to Cleveland, Sunday, May 23, for a baseball game between the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. The trip departs at 10 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m. Cost is $40 for residents; $50 for non-residents, and includes transportation.

Camp Fun Daze, for ages 9-10, offers a variety of outdoor/active experiences for children. Cost is $110 per week for residents; $125 for nonresidents. Parents can register their children for as many weeks as they like. Activities include swimming, field trips, arts and crafts and sports.

"Around Westerville's Parks" amateur shutterbug digital photography contest is accepting entries. Photos must have been taken between Jan. 1, 2009, and June 25, 2010 at a Westerville Park and Recreation location. No professional photos, please. One entry per person per category. The deadline is June 28. Entry forms and information are available at the community center, or by calling Toni Schorling at (614) 901-6503.

Adolescent Volunteer Experience program is open to teens who would like to be engaged and active in community service. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month through June. Call Darcy Baxter, program supervisor, at (614) 901-6543.

The new Peak Schedule for the community center runs through May 31. New hours are 5:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday hours are unchanged.

Shelter reservations for Westerville parks can now be made online. Residents must first come to the community center and fill out an online registration form if they have no already done so. Shelter reservations are available through Oct. 31.
