Highlands Pool Last Splash Party, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 31. Games, entertainment and discounts on admission and food. The pool will also host a Kids Try-Athalon for ages 7-12 on Aug. 1. Fee is $5 per participant. The event includes a 100-meter swim, one-mile bike ride and quarter-mile run. A Doggie Paddle will be held at the pool from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1. Cost is $5 per dog.

Touch-A-Truck, 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 30, offers preschoolers an opportunity for an up-close encounter with cement mixers, police cruisers, fire trucks and other equipment that is usually seen from far away.

Sounds of Summer Concert Series continues with Halfway Home Aug. 1. The free concerts are held at 6:30 p.m. Sundays at the Rotary Amphitheater in Alum Creek Park North, 221 W. Main St. The Family Concert Series (Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Everal Barn at Heritage Park) continues with magician Stephen Knight on July 28.

Paintball at Splatter Park, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, for ages 11-17. The cost is $45 for residents; $55 for nonresidents and includes transportation, equipment, safety gear and lunch.
