After years of donating money as a group to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM), a fitness class at the Westerville Community Center decided to create a way for others to support the organization.

The 20-plus members of Sally Spanitz's morning water toning class have worked out together for years, member Gail Paulus said. The group would hold monthly potlucks, which turned into monthly birthday lunches. In lieu of gifts or cards, members would make a donation to WARM.

The group recently compiled a list of their favorite potluck recipes into the "Water Babes Best Recipe" cookbook. The book, which contains around 300 recipes, is being sold for $6, with all proceeds going to WARM.

"It's the best recipes that people have collected that everybody liked at potlucks," Paulus said.

The book is dedicated to Helen Dyson, a member of the class who passed away last year at age 90.

Paulus said 300 copies were printed, and the group is hoping to raise $1,200 for WARM through the sale of the books. The group already has sold about 120 copies, she said.

Fliers for the cookbook are available at the community center, and those interested in purchasing a copy can contact Paulus at (614) 203-6985 or via e-mail at jpaulus@insight.rr.com.
