With a new sign in front of Towers Hall, Otterbein College has fully transitioned to Otterbein University.

With students wearing both Otterbein College and Otterbein University T-shirts on hand, the new sign went up before the historic Towers Hall Thursday morning, Aug. 25.

The original sign, donated by the class of 1956, was moved to the university's archives. The new sign also honors the 1956 graduates.

Otterbein's board voted in February to change the school's name from "college" to "university," beginning in the 2010-2011 school year. The recommendation came from a University Task Force and is meant to reflect the school's increasing number of graduate and undergraduate programs.
