Hear a new spin on the classic songs of Billie Holiday, Judy Garland and many more as local jazz and swing group, The Ukulele Cowboy Society, performs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30.

The Ohio Humanities Council will present "Ohio Chautauqua: Civil War" June 30-July 4 at Westerville Sports Complex, 325 N. Cleveland Ave. Actors performing first-person, historical portrayals will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. each day, following musical entertainment at 6:30 p.m. Chautauqua performers will offer workshops at the library for ages 8 to 11:

10 to 11 a.m. June 30, "Healthy Living Civil War Style"

1 to 2 p.m. June 30, "Dear Mr. President"

10 to 11 a.m. July 1, "The Everyday Life of the Civil War Soldier"

10 to 11 a.m. July 2, "African-American Heritage: Stories, Games and Songs."

All Chautauqua programs will be held in the Meeting Rooms.

Totally Terrific Film Night for families will screen Walt Disney's The Jungle Book (G) in the Activity Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5.

Investigate clues about historical figures and events from the Civil War in the History Attack program from 11 a.m. to noon and 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 8, in the Activity Center. Registration required.

Library Fly Day at Alum Creek State Park will feature radio-controlled racing, sport and model planes in action. The event will be held at the park's flying field on Africa Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Members of the Westerville Model Aeronautics Association will demonstrate and assists kids in their own trial flights. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be served.

Students from the Nalanda School of Dance will present a performance of traditional Indian dances and a demonstration of temporary henna tattooing from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 90, in Meeting Rooms A and B.
