Learn about Relay For Life and do some holiday shopping. Relay teams, independent sales consultants and local vendors will have crafts and other items for sale. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Relay For Life.

Otterbein University will kick off the holiday season with its annual Christmas tree lighting and Thanksgiving dinner feast, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2.
A canned-food drive will be held at both events, to benefit Westerville Area Resource Ministry.
Otterbein president Kathy Krendl will illuminate the official Otterbein Christmas tree on Towers Hall lawn, 1 S. Grove St., at 5:30 p.m. The lighting will feature music, a holiday message from chaplain Monty Bradley and a visit from Santa.
The holiday feast will be held in the Campus Center, 100 W. Home St., beginning at 6 p.m. Activities will include photos with Santa, activities for children and discounts in the university bookstore. Tickets for dinner are $10 general admission, $4 for ages 4 to 10 and free for ages 3 or younger. Dinner is included in the meal plan for Otterbein students.

The Westerville Parks and Recreation Department thanked senior center veterans Nov. 11 with a pancake breakfast, music by the Silvertones and a special ceremony.
During the ceremony, the Senior Advisory Board awarded a check for $6,000 to Westerville Honor Flight.
Honor Flight’s goal is to help World War II veterans in America visit their memorial by transporting them to Washington, D.C., to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.
Westerville Honor Flight has helped more than 300 veterans in the past three years.

Franklin County Public Health will offer a childhood immunization clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Westar Urgent Care Center, 444 N. Cleveland Ave.
Required immunizations are $10 each for children ages 1 month to 18 years, plus a $15 assessment fee per visit.
Seasonal flu shots for children are also available. The cost is $10. The $15 assessment fee does not apply unless other types of shots are given at the same visit.
Cash, check, Medicaid, CareSource and Molina will be accepted. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay for childhood immunizations.
Parents are asked to bring shot records for their children. A completed consent form is required if a parent or legal guardian is not present.
