Members of the Aladdin Shrine will be out at Westerville area intersections taking donations for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Saturday morning, May 26.

Westerville residents will have an opportunity to contribute to what has been called the "world's greatest philanthropy."

Members of the Aladdin Shrine will be spreading the good news about Shriners Hospitals for Children and accepting donations to continue the family-centered pediatric and burn care for children in 22 hospitals throughout North America.

For more than 90 years, Shriners Hospitals for Children has provided treatment for more than 900,000 children. The central Ohio area is serviced by Shriners Hospitals in Cincinnati, as well as Lexington, Ky., and Erie, Pa.

In addition to caring for the children regardless of their ability to pay, the local shriners provided free transportation to and from the hospital designated to care for child's condition.

On Saturday morning, Shriners collecting for the effort will be wearing their recognizable Fez hats and carrying bags full of tabloids, which they will distribute to passing motorists who donate. The tabloid newspapers tell the story of the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

All proceeds will go to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
