A 42-year-old man was assaulted by two unknown people on the bike path between Hoff Woods Park, 556 McCorkle Blvd., and Giant Eagle, 650 N. State St., at 11:40 p.m. July 11.

A 42-year-old man was assaulted by two unknown people on the bike path between Hoff Woods Park, 556 McCorkle Blvd., and Giant Eagle, 650 N. State St., at 11:40 p.m. July 11.

According to Westerville police, the man reported he was walking from his apartment to Giant Eagle on the bike path when two men jumped out of the bushes and asked him for money.

The man told police he next remembered being on the ground and being spoken to by a bicyclist. He said he walked to Giant Eagle, where employees called police.

The man suffered a concussion, required stitches and had the bone surrounding his eye broken.

Police have no suspects in the case, reports said.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for attempting to steal two pairs of shorts from a store in the 100 block of Huber Village Boulevard at 11:05 a.m. July 8.

Two teenage boys were arrested at 1:35 p.m. July 13 for attempting to steal $1,100 worth of merchandise from a store in the 100 block of Huber Village Boulevard.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested for attempting to steal $62 worth of merchandise from a store in the 100 block of Polaris Parkway at 12:50 a.m. July 14.

Blendon Township

Thirteen tires on seven vehicles parked in the lot of the Blendon Township Municipal Building, 6340 S. Hempstead Road, were damaged on July 10, township police reported.

The value of the damage was estimated at $1,570.

A garage door was forced open to gain access in a burglary of a home in the 3500 block of Karikal Drive July 12, police reported. A television, laptop, jewelry and money, totaling more than $5,600 in value, were stolen.

A shed in the 5500 block of Walnutview Drive was forced open July 14, and a generator valued at $2,000 was stolen.

A vehicle parked in the 7400 block of Cubbage Road was broken into July 13. Clothing, a wallet and a backpack, with a value of $395, were reported stolen.
