A unique run will occur in Westerville at 8 a.m. Aug. 11 as the Beethoven Run, sponsored by Ohio Health, winds through historic Uptown Westerville starting at Alum Creek Park.

WOSU will broadcast Beethoven's Fifth Symphony on Classical 101.1 and runners will enjoy this symphonic work at 10 music stations set up throughout the course. All runners who finish the race before the symphony concludes (approximately 32 minutes) will receive a voucher for one ticket to the Masterworks concert of their choice during Westerville Symphony's 2012-13 season.

Registration will open at 7 a.m. on the day of the race. Registration packets will be available for pickup Aug. 9-10 at Fleet Feet.

A portion of the funds raised from the event will support the creation of a new scholarship program for music students from Westerville City Schools who wish to attend Otterbein University.
