About 160 Central Ohio performers will take part in the annual Westerville Christmas Spectacular on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Westerville Central High School, 7118 Mount Royal Ave.
A children's performance will take place from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., followed by two-hour shows beginning at 2:30 and 7 p.m.
The Christmas Spectacular, featuring performers from age 7 to adult, is produced by Generations Performing Arts Center and features singing and dancing to all the holiday favorites.
The story begins with a fabulous Rockette-style version of Winter Wonderland and heads right into a scene showing The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.
The production matches most of our lives during the month of December! The show features tap-dancing reindeer to Up on the Housetop by Westerville native, Benjamin Hanby, a toy-shop that comes to life and an exciting Christmas morning scene. Professional singer Dwight Lenox and the Lenox Avenue Express will be featured singing The Christmas Song, Merry Christmas Darling and Do You Hear What I Hear!
New to the annual Holiday tradition is Rappin' Christmas, a hip hop piece featuring five boys and a few funky elves.
In addition to the tap-dancing reindeer, the show features dancing Raggedy Anns and Andys, Toy Soldiers, Dancing Dolls, Tap Dancing Penguins, Frosty the Snowman and of course, Santa Claus.
At all the performances, the performers will collect donations for Westerville Caring and Sharing to make Christmas better for local families in need.
